American Cold War Veterans - National Meeting 2010

April 28th - General Meeting - Dirksen Building (room
SD-G11) 1:30 - 4:00PM
The general meeting is "open to anyone" interested in
the Cold War, It's history and our continued pursuit of a Cold War Victory/Service Medal.
1. Agenda items: Bringing awareness to Cold War Veterans issues.
2. Convincing Congress to authorize and DIRECT the
Department of Defense to issue proper military awards to Cold War Servicemen.
3. Celebration of the passage of H.Res.900 Cold War Veterans Day / next steps.
4. Discussion on the creation of a monuments to honor veterans of the Cold War in Washington DC and California.
5. Speakers
6. Also at this meeting the American Cold War Veterans will be making a donation to the Health and Welfare fund of the USS Liberty Association. (Press has been invited)
The USS Liberty is the Navy ship that was attacked by Israeli forces on June 8, 1967. This attack killed 34 Americans and injured another 174.
We are reaching out to our fellow veterans to assist them with this fund to help those who were injured. These brave men are now aging rapidly and many need additional help.

April 27 - May 1 - Capitol Hill Blitz
We will be:
1. Storming Capitol Hill to convey the importance of this legislation and for it to be included in the
National Defense Authorization Act 2011.
2. Do our best to persuade Congress to declare May 1st of every year as a Day Of Remembrance Of The Cold War and to recognize Cold War Veterans.
